This Alaskan Brown Bear was fishing for salmon along the bank of the Alagnak River in Alaska when I photographed him.  He was only a few yards from our small motorboat, but he was totally focused on the salmon.  It was clear that his grizzled appearance was the result of a fierce battle, and a recent one at that.  He was a massive animal, and I couldn’t help but wonder what the other fellow looked like after the fight.
