I photographed this large Alaskan Brown Bear as he fished just below Brooks Falls in Alaska.  He positioned himself on the edge of a pool under the Falls, then launched himself into the water when he spotted a salmon.  Due to his peculiar fishing technique, the rangers called him “Lurch”.  His unorthodox style was somewhat unproductive:  we watched him for half an hour, several lurches, all without success.
