Pine trees are fascinating. They grow in profusion within Rocky Mountain National Park. Janet and I were camping on a cold, windy, overcast day in March, wildlife was not to be seen, and clouds obscured most vistas. I turned to macro photography to satisfy my urge and the results are posted here. The first photo is a pine cone turned on edge, revealing an interesting pattern. The second photo is a more traditional view of a pine cone. The third photo is of the base of a dead pine, still standing upright, but time will eventually take it’s toll on the structure.
